HEY THERE, friends thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are well. I wanna share with you my recent trip to Grayson Highlands SP.  We were there June 15 - 17, 2018. It was a quick weekend trip. We stop by the Virginia Creeper Trail and just enjoyed the day. We always make a point to go during this time of the year to get away from the heat and humidity. The temps there at Grayson are so much nicer and a bit cooler. I've lost count of how many times we have visited this SP? 5 or 6 times? Such a gorgeous area of Virginia. ENJOY!! The Giant City Lodge, was constructed in 1930's. Check out their water tower, that will stretch your leg muscles to places you might have realize it will or could stretch??!!? NO KIDDING!!! Giant City State Park, 235 Giant City Road, Makanda, Illinois (618) 457-4836. It was a gorgeous day for a hike, so we took a nice hike around this trail. I was trying to recall the length ...just nice one. Just right. Can you see me? A balancing rock there, makes you wonder how long ago it was settled in like that? Will it ever move or what???!?!?!? We did try to get your camper friends to go with us on a trip a bit farther away from Gunn Creek Campground, but they didn't I feel understand the love for art and just feeling like a kid. Adults can always be a kid ...you never will lose your kid like self ...if you do things you love. We are not players of Dungeons and Dragons, BUT WE LOVE ART. This was a not to far location to see from our Gunn Creek Campground, one of the fellow campers was having a birthday so we stopped into Joe's Pizza & Pasta, 117 E. Main St. Benton, IL 62812, Phone: (618) 438-0563. I wish, wish, WISH I had taken a picture or 2 of the pizzas we did have ... each couple got a different pizza and that gave us all a chance to try so many of their amazing PIZZAS. They were DELICIOUS!!! greek, hawaiian, taco, stuffed, veggie, SO MANY OPTIONS, you will love it promise!!! So some one recommended going to see this museum. It is a FREE museum, however they would appreciate a donation. I believe one of the campers had seen a bit about it in the travel brochure. I think??! Any who we stopped on by. I would have put money it that I did in fact take a picture of this very same shot that I also put on my instagram feed? But where is it? Great shot, huh? All the camping friends jumped in vehicles and drove to this winery ...just around the corner from Gunn Creek Campground. Pheasant Hollow Winery, 14931 St. Hwy 37, Whittington, Illinois, 62897 ...so many of those friends bought treats to share ...we did too. Some peanut filled pretzels. This is a quiet getaway. Gunn Creek Campground, Address: Golf Course Dr, Whittington, IL 62897, Phone: (618) 724-2493. We were at this park for 6 days and the weather was always changing ... one day warm, cold, freezing, so much wind we thought we might blow away ... it was wild!! But the hubby who prefer water front sites was so thrilled. We got to see so many amazing sights at this party ... eagles, birds of all sorts, but you know what was funny a camper friend said ... "Did you notice there are no squirrels?" I had not even thought about it... there were NO SQUIRRELS??? what, really? it was true. Lots of birds, tons of birds ... from all size .... Axtel Campground, Kentucky, Address: 14500 Falls of Rough Rd, Falls of Rough, KY 40119, Phone: (270) 257-2584, I was trying to recall if we normally go out in the camping world in April? I know the month of February we have never ever been camping??! It is kind of cold then.  So we were heading to Illinois for a get together with other camping buddies ... stopped at this park ... I believe my hubby had picked 3 camping spot before we got to finally keep this one we did stay in ... they were flooding as you can see. This is dam controlled ... but it does go into their camping spots and that is what happened to our other 1st wishes for camping??! Wild, huh???! You will never guess what the weather was like in the morning?? We woke up to falling snow, the hubby talked to another camper he was talking about snow in the morning, and the hubs looked at the weather report and it said NO SNOW, how do these weather folks get their jobs? One job where you can always be wrong, ...
