I must admit ...I usually will work up like 3 or 4 posts and have them ready in case I don't have the time to sit down each week 2 work up a post. I know it, Let me tell ya, they are the best chocolates you will ever have and they taste like bourbon. So so so so so so so so so SO SO SO good!!! You maybe be asking, Beth what did you get from this distillery, well we did purchase those I got have another box of those chocolates but not sure when we will be getting to Kentucky again any time soon & a bottle of their chocolate liquor. Bernheim Arboretum, Kentucky

Image
"Bernheim Arboretum" and Research Forest  2075 Clermont Road Clermont, KY 40110 A great place to take your dog for a walk. Go on a date, take a picnic, whatever it maybe but just take time to get away and just relax. So many hiking trails, great walking locations. So many blooms plants and trees. So calming. Quiet. We were there when it was a free time. I am not sure if it is always free, but do check into that. We had a fun time just looking around. Lots of must see art as well. The bottom shots reminds me of a game I did play as kid where you had a ball or twine that you had to keep from falling with some sticks, I don't recall the name of the game but wanted to share this amazing design with you ...here is what the sign below it did say about the artist: "Photosynthesis" - by: Myung Gyun You, 2014, Born in South Korea, lives in Philadelphia, PA, 2014 Bernheim Artist in Residence, Materials: Lath, wire, lumber, and wood stain. Jim Beam, Clermont, Kentucky

Image
"Jim Beam" , 526 Happy Hollow Rd, Clermont, KY 40110 hours:  9AM–5:30PM phone: (502) 215-2295 Hey there!! Welcome! Glad you stopped in today, are you a drinker? Maybe 1 who does partakes for a drink every now and then? Only in cooking? 1 who has never drank the stuff? What are you thoughts? Do you have a favorite spirit? I am usually a fan of vodka. NOT that I drink it constantly or even on an every day basics. Just a fan of once in a blue moon. The hubby & I are not big drinkers but when in Kentucky you are meant to check out these distilleries. I mean it is tradition after all & you don't even have to walk in to smell the bourbon. You can smell it in the air. I wonder if they make it a cologne? It is a lovely scent. Kentucky lives, breathes and bleeds bourbon. Whatever makes ya money. We did come home with a bottle of Red Stag (my fave) and Fire (the hubby's fave). There are so many options to pick from and I am sure it will ...

Fred Hamilton Gardens, Hiawassee, GA, This was a free gardens, we did make a donation while we were there just to be kind. Not many folks walking around the folks working there did say we should have been there the week before, 'cause that was when all the rhododendron were in full bloom. Is that not how it always is??! You never seem to be in an area when you need to be ... but there were a few blooms leftover. The hubby when planning our trips always looks to see if there are FREE gardens and other spots in an area just to check out while you are in that neck of the woods. WHY NOT? You never know what you might see!! So fun ...nice exercise. These gardens are so well taken care of ...gorgeous details ...so they have really gone the extra mile.  Phone: 706-896-4191 - Address: 1311 Music Hall Road, Hiawassee Georgia 30546 - Located 1 mile west of Hiawassee Georgia on US 76 Hours and Fees Garden hours of operation are 9 am - 3 pm daily....

Anna Ruby Falls, Helen, GA, 706-878-1448, located in Unicoi State Park, we were staying at the Riverbend campground, Hiawassee, GA and took this day trip to see several waterfalls. Such a fun day. I keep thinking as many time as I have spelled HIAWASSEE, I am going to remember how to spell that, boy is that a tough word to spell. Anna Ruby Falls, lies in the heart of the Chattahoochee National Forest. Every time we said Chattahoochee I always think of Alan Jackson's  country song ... makes me smile. There is a fee of $3.00 per person (ages 16 & up) to visit Anna Ruby Falls. Anna Ruby Falls is open daily (weather permitting) from 9AM - 6PM. Nobody admitted on the trail after 5PM. Please enjoy this vlog from that day. So pretty. Lots of folks walking around. I meant to get a picture of this warning about "copperheads" ...they called them friendly, don't be afraid they did say ... if you leave them alone they will leave you alone? I a...
