Hey there!! I have 2 or is it 3 other trips to share before this one actually did happen in life but for some reason I just wanted to share this amazing one real quick 'cause it was so awesome. Not that the other trips were not great as well ...but this one included some awesome must see spots!!! It was a quick getaway over Memorial Day weekend. Come along with me ... & please enjoy!! What or where are we visiting today, you might ask? Well, it would be "P.J. Gilligan Dry Goods & Mercantile Co. Burkittsville, MD Est 1821" . They are frozen in the 1860s. They have a very odd open schedule, so we were super glad they were open when we drove on by. Stop in and look around, but they are only open 11-7pm on Saturdays and 12-7pm on Sundays. I love history ...love stopping in to see some old business that might have had some great historical folks stopping in to see or visit. Look at that step ...who might have step up there? If you are ever in this ...

Such history. Hope you do enjoy!!! If you ever get the chance to be in Tennessee, Great Smoky Mtns, get back Cades Cove ...you will be amazed by the beauty. Lots to visit and see. Cades Cove, Tennessee

Lots to see while at Cades Cove, within The Great Smoky Mtns. It's an 11 miles loop, there are many stops to drive in and get out an explore. Stretch your legs and get in some hiking if you so desire. Such a must see. I love all the history, the style of all of these barns and buildings. I would guess when it is more prime season there would be even more going on. Even though it was off season (rainy overcast day) so to speak, the crowd was there! Such history and awesome view to see. Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day! Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( ;

Cades Cove, Tennessee

Have you ever visited "Cades Cove" , Tennessee, within the Great Smoky Mtns.?  It is an 11 mile loop. Such gorgeous views, no matter sun or rain. It was a bit blue, bits of rain here and there. There were lots of photographers trying to grab a great shot. It was fun to see. Every one was enjoying the views. If you recall Gatlinburg had been through recent fires, so it was quite sad to see all the destruction. I sure hope that all who lost items will soon find a way to rebuild, etc. Fun to think about they way folks use to travel in the olden days. Hope you are well today and enjoy your visit. Thanks for stopping by. Be Well & Be Blessed!! Beth ( ;

Kerr Lake, North Carolina

Hey there!! Thanks for stopping by today, We took a quick getaway over a long weekend in the end of April, 1st day of May to enjoy Kerr Lake Recreation Area County Line Campground. If you know much about that area of southern central of Virginia into North Carolina ...there are several campground put into or near the John H. Kerr Dam & Reservoir ...they had a ton of recent rain so the campground we were going to stay in was not well do all that rain. But this one as you can see had several campsite under water. It is wild to see what water can do. The hubby thought it was funny to be rowing along and see a picnic table under your kayak, hope thing will dry out okay soon enough.  If you a looking for a great book, check out "The Hale Brothers" by: Kathyrn Andrews... such a great read ...I had a chance to read that series while on this trip. If you are an avid reader like myself, you find the down times to fit in reading. While the hubby is na...

Lake Norman State Park, North Carolina

"Lake Norman State Park" , North Carolina. When I am putting up this post 3/18/017 to publish on 5/1/2017 ... they are controlled burning there at Lake Norman, I always wonder why they don't that more around different parts of states that have issues with burning problems, seems smart if you know what you are doing, etc. A great state park, very cold while we were there, so pretty. Great for tents. Not so much for folks who need their van, RV or whatever level. We had a nightmare of a time getting ours level. So wild!! When we go kayaking I always wear these shoes that are great for walking on rocks and other slippery surfaces, I 1st wore them when we went to The Narrows in Zion National Park, Utah. Such a great item!! But this day I wore them at Lake Norman I seriously got stuck in the mud while trying to get into my kayak, I hate taking dirt into my kayak 'cause then you have to clean out your kayak.... & draining water from your kayak is not ...
