Brent's Drug, Jackson, Mississippi

Image
Brent's Drug, in Jackson, Mississippi, they are on "FB" & "Twitter" . I am not great with names, but I will always remember your face ...the waitress we had was the bestest, she was so kind, made me laugh until I almost cried. You see we have been to the restaurant twice ...1st time we got the best LAMB burger, collard greens & a sauce named "ComeBack Sauce". I have an idea of what "ComeBack Sauce" is made from but ...I bet it is a big secret ...let me tell ya, I will be coming back when I am in Jackson again. This would have been our 3rd trip there but I believe it was last year or was it the year before, any who they had a roof leak and that made it so we couldn't go. I follow them on FB and thankfully saw that announcement there. So I had been waiting 3 yrs to have another LAMB burger, collard greens... NOW GUESS WHAT? they no longer sell the LAMB burger & they were out of the collard greens???! WHAT? not kidding. ...

Image
"Biedenharn Museum & Gardens" , Monroe, Louisiana. Want a 5 cent Coke? They have them at this museum. I always think it is interesting now different Coke tastes, depending on if you are drink from a can, bottle, restaurant, etc.? " In 1894, Joseph A. Biedenharn, a country businessman in Vicksburg, Mississippi and owner of the Biedenharn Candy Company, made a world changing decision. In order for his customers outside downtown Vicksburg to have Coca-Cola, he had his brother Herman put Coca-Cola into   Biedenharn bottles , making the Biedenharn Candy Company the first to ever bottle Coca-Cola. Today, Coca-Cola is sold in more than 200 countries.   Under Joe's leadership, his brothers, sons, and grandsons, established plants in Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Arkansas eventually becoming the ninth largest bottling corporation in the United States."   The lady pictured was our tour guide in the museum, she was super sweet. Did you know...

"Dr. Pepper Museum", Waco, Texas . Many folks are shocked to hear we love all sorts of soda. They just assume since we are Coke fans that we would never drink Pepsi or other kinds of sodas. But we do. What's your favorite beverage? I so want a pair of those Squirt cowboy boots, aren't they just the coolest thing you have ever seen? Real stylish. Don't you think that the museum will at least allow me to borrow them??! Thanks for visiting today, hope you are well. Take care. Beth ( :

Casita Rally in Bandera, Texas

We went to our 2nd Casita Rally in Texas this past April. This one was held at "Skyline Ranch RV Park", in Bandera, Texas . They call this rally the "Blue Bonnet Rally", I've only seen blue bonnets online, was super excited to see them in person. Well, guess what??! The blue bonnets bloomed early this year??! We took this walk to the river twice while there, it is a gorgeous hike & all sorts of creatures area to see. The hubby has gotten the "Casita" all decked out in "Cozy Casa" gear, I never know how it will end up, I have always loved red & white so it works for me. He is the Coca-Cola nut.  I think we were the "bell of the ball", so to speak ...a lot of the folks just keep the normal look of their Casita, the hubby has to be super unique & I think folks enjoy see...

Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah

Image
Bonneville Salt Flats International Speedway, Utah , Such an amazing sight to see, a MUST SEE for sure. So much salt & nothing to eat? If you look in the 2nd shot Shelia the sheep is under the sign, she was so tiny under that sign??! Probably salty too!! It was wild to see the cars and motorcycles running around on the salt. Would be great for a commercial, Horrible for your car, not good for the paint.  I did enlarge the Bonneville Salt sign to tell you what it says, some words are rubbed off... "The salt flats were formed an ancient Lake Bonneville slowly evaporated and deposited concentrations of salt onto this playa. Shorelines carved into the mountainsides are visible to the north along the Silver Island range and extend to the Salt Lake Valley. Named after Captain B.L. Bonneville, an early military explorer of the West, the salt flats measure over 44,000 acres and are primarily Public Land.  Historically, the flats h...

Mazama Campground, Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Image
"Mazama Campground" at Crater Lake National Park, Oregon , views from our campsite, that little birdie was trying to hard to get a treat, silly bird, gorgeous colors he did have, but he has learned from some where that humans will give food, a big NO NO!! All I gave him was a talkin' too, he finally flew off. & of course took his picture, he is so famous now. Talk of the bloggy world he is. A "Stellar's Jay". I am guessing similar to a blue jay that we have here in Virginia. Enjoy this video from the campsite, almost like you are right there with us. It does include bird & fire noises. Beth ( ;
