  Sergeant Alvin York Mill State Historic Area, Pall Mall, TN https://tnstateparks.com/parks/sgt-alvin-c-york ...pays tribute to one of the most decorated soldiers of WWI. I know we have stopped here before, it does have a very clean restroom and a perfect stopping point to stretch your legs and enjoy the views. What's happening? Are you well? Good weather? Thank you so kindly for stopping by. I did check to see if I had past views of this beauty ...but no luck ...so I am guessing I didn't share them at that past moment?? Thinky face??! It was fun to see what views I took verses what the hubby did. Several photos he is in mine and I am in his. LOL!! I truly appreciate that the locals keep this area beautiful. This mill is treasured for sure ...most respect for that, I wish so many other mills were respected as this one. Have a blessed day. Take Care. Beth ( ;

  The Paint Bank General Store 16071 Paint Bank Road Paint Bank, VA 24131 540.897.5000 https://www.paintbankgeneralstore.com/ Before we went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary we hung out with the in-laws in Paint Bank, Virginia ... stopping that General Store to celebrate the MIL's 80th birthday. So fun. We have been to this General Store before (they have the a store on the top floor with Christmas ornaments for sale and other bits ...we did take pics so the MIL could see without walking up the steep stairs) ... and knew they 2 of them would love it as well. They have a beautiful ole' mill in the back.  The Olde Mill Inn Bed & Breakfast 603 Pennlyn Avenue, TN, 37724 423.869.0868 https://www.oldemillinnbnb.com/ In November 2024 ...we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary on November 6th ...we took a trip to celebrate then ... to stay a few nights. Each breakfast was magically different, I must admit I was a bit concerned ...who would wish for a same ole' meal ...

Pickett CCC Memorial State Park

  Pickett CCC Memorial State Park, 4605 Pickett Park Hwy, Jamestown, TN 38556  Gorgeous state park ...these pics did separate a bit ...but I believe you can tell where they are together ... several of the hikes were roped off from tree damaged ...seems it happened a long time ago ...we were there November 2024, but I am guessing that the repairs are not on their top of the list to get done?? No clue??! Made my hubby miss his Corvette ...there was a group of them visiting the park as well as the 2 of us. The bridge was kind of shaky ...we were walking back to the truck ... and a couple were walking their dogs ...the dog who was leading (their were 2 of them) was scared about the bridge ...I didn't really enjoy the shaking ...glad for steady ground. Thanks for enjoying the views with me. Hope you are well this week. Take Care. Beth ( ;

Cumberland Gap, TN

Image
  Out of the room we stay at in "The Olde Mill Inn Bed & Breakfast" we have a view looking up to these mountains ...but this is looking down on the area of Cumberland Gap, TN. So fun to pick out each business ...very awesome! It always makes me laugh when you can stand spots where you are in multiple states, have you ever done this before?  Right down from the B & B ...is this spot to check out ... I enjoy how you can do and see so much in such a small area. Very quiet most of the time. Iron Furnace I do believe they were calling it. i find it interesting that Virginia, TN & Kentucky are all in this area ... at the tips of each of them ... very neat. check out the map if you are curious. ( ;  Have a great day. Thank you so kindly for stopping by. Beth

"The Manhattan Project took shape at 3 primary locations across the country: Hanford, Washington, Los Alamos, New Mexico and Oak Ridge, Tennessee." "A massive industrial complex was built at Oak Ridge, TN, to enrich uranium and eventually serve as the headquarters of the nationwide project. Three separate uranium enrichment technologies were pursued in parallel. A pilot reactor and chemical separation plant were also constructed at Oak Ridge to produce a limited amount of plutonium." Hi there. I must say that the hubby was more thrilled by this trip than me. I find secrets (I never liked Christmas secrets, so for me secrets I don't enjoy ...can't understand why we need secrets??!?) that our government keep ...yeah, I know it happens and will continue to happen ...but ??! U know what I mean??!  History is f...
